Ali Pasha Castle

Ali Pasha Castle is a small, pentagonal shapes castle situated within a peninsula in the small, tectonic bay of Porto Palermo- known in antiquity as the Bay of Panormes. The castle, which is not far from Qeparo Village, has walls that are 20m high.

Ali Pasha, a 17th century Ottoman Albanian ruler, constructed the castle in honour of this wife, Vasiliqise. The castle also served as a submarine base for the Soviets during the Communist regime, so there is a wide array of history waiting to be unveiled.

The lovely view from the top of the hill that will leave you breathless, making this a highly recommended spot to visit.
