Arza Fortress

One of the first things you’ll notice when approaching Boka Bay from the open sea is the beautiful, round shaped naval Arza Fort. In the past, during the Austro-Hungarian rule, the Fort played an important role in protecting the Bay from the potential conquerors.

Arza Fort was built in the 19th century as part of the first line defense system together with the fort Mamula and Prevlaka Fort at the Cape Oštro in Croatia. Even though the inside of the fort is closed to visitors, it is definitely worth coming to have a look.

The fort’s exterior is fascinating, and the natural surroundings make this the perfect place to escape for an afternoon.

The beaches close to the cape are very clean, peaceful and beautiful, and the turquoise sea is perfectly clear. A major selling point is that both the cape and the beaches are not very popular, meaning they are never overcrowded- ensuring silence and serenity.
