Butrint Archeological Site

Burtrint is located in southern Albania, approximately 20km from the modern city of Saranda. The archaeological site combines ancient man-made monuments with an exceptional Mediterranean landscape that has developed organically over many centuries.

Whereas most historical landscapes across the Mediterranean have experienced aggressive developments that have reduced their heritage value, Butrint remains authentic and untouched- constituting a very rare combination of archaelogy and nature.

The property is a microcosm of Mediterranean history, dating from 50,000 BC at the earliest, up to the 19th century AD. Prehistoric sites have been identified within Butrint and the small hills that surround its lake, as well as within its wider territory.

Butrint is the perfect destination for those wishing to learn more about Mediterranean heritage.
