Historical underwater park

Located in Čikat Bay, one kilometer from the centre of Mali Lošinj, the underwater park features a mixture of genuine and replica historical artefacts including cannon, anchors, amphoras, dating back from the 4th and 5th century. Its greatest attraction is the replica of the Croatian Apoxyomenos statue. The statute is Croatia’s great scuba diving treasure. It was discovered by a Belgian tourist diver in 1996 and painstakingly restored over three years by the local archaeology center. The statue is one of only a handful that has ever been discovered and the most intact example of the figure in bronze.

The exhibits are placed at the depth of five to 15 meters, while the park’s trail is 300 meters long. The small park makes for a perfect lazy afternoon dive, an excellent opportunity for photographers to practise their art, and an interesting, shallow playground for novice divers.
