Lekuresi Castle

Lekursi Castle (Kalaja e Lëkurësit) was built in the early 16th centry by Sultan Suleymani. It is located on the top of a hill in Lëkurës looking directly over Sarande, 3-4km from the center of Saranda.

The Castle was initially built to protect the city of Saranda from invaders accessing the coastline by boat. Now, you can enjoy traditional cuisine in the restaurant. During some summer evenings, the Castle holds special Albanian dances and other spectacular performances to give you a real taste of traditional Albanian entertainment.

Above all, the Lekursi Castle is known for its’ splendid views of Saranda, the Ionian Sea, and the Greek island of Corfu.
