Saint Hills winery

When visiting the peninsula of Pelješac, this miraculously preserved wonder of Mediterranean nature and culture, you can easily get the feeling you entered into a scene of an old movie. Perhaps the clocks have stopped here, at some point in time when there were no smartphones and constant rush. This is just what your soul needed.

In these beautiful vineyards, all is done by hand, because Nature does not allow machines in Dingač, a protected winegrowing zone, you slowly get the picture what these wines are all about. They are all about the sun, sea, stone and hard work. Yet, every drop of them is worth it. Now that you are in the vineyard, you switched into the Pelješac mode, and ready to visit the winery.

Vinaria, as the Saints Hills Winery is localy called, is an old stone house in a little village of Oskorušno. This house actually used to be a winery, but its owners went on a quest for a better life overseas, leaving their winery to sleep for 80 years. It was waiting for them to breathe in a new life in her, leaving the old stones untouched. They withhold the story of tradition. The modern part of story is, however, for the guest to discover.

The Treasury Room is perhaps the best way to be introduced to our wine. This is where all Saint Hills’ vintages are produced. You can see the development over the years, and in different vineyards. And take your time. This room will take you to a wine-wonderland…

This story is also followed by the food served at their restaurant. All ingredients are fresh and locally grown, including in their own vegetable and spice garden. Dishes tend to follow Dalmatian traditional recipes made with a little twist from the Chef. The food here brings new perspective to the wines, and together create a feast for the guests’ taste-buds.
