St. Euphemia’s Church

St. Euphemia’s Church is undoubtedly the main Rovinj monument and symbol, whose belfry dominates the most famous urban landscape – the peninsula with stone houses “immersed” in the sea. On the site of today’s St. Euphemia’s Church, there once was a small Church of St. George. When St. Euphemia’s sarcophagus was brought to Rovinj, the church St. George became too small for all the pilgrims, which is why, in the 10th century, the people of Rovinj started building a new, bigger church. When in Rovinj, go and visit this unique sacral monument and learn more about the history of this small coastal town, while at the same time, enjoying one of the most beautiful views.
